Lauter Tun
The Lauter Tun is a brewing vessel designed to separate liquid wort from spent grain after mashing. It typically uses a perforated false bottom or filtration system to allow wort to drain while retaining the grain bed. TRADE SBE supplies lauter tun equipment for commercial breweries, craft breweries, and beverage production facilities.
Key Benefits
Efficient Wort Separation: Separates liquid wort from spent grains.
Clearer Wort Collection: Supports effective filtration through the grain bed.
Consistent Brewing: Helps maintain a controlled lautering process.
Durable Construction: Stainless steel options offer corrosion resistance.
Easy Cleaning: Designed for convenient cleaning and maintenance.
Customizable Capacity: Available in different sizes to suit brewery requirements.
Product Applications
Lauter Tuns are widely used in commercial breweries, microbreweries, craft beer production units, and beverage manufacturing plants. They are suitable for separating wort from mashed malted barley, wheat, and other compatible brewing grains during beer production.
Operation
Transfer the prepared mash from the mash tun into the lauter tun. Allow the grain bed to settle and begin draining the wort through the filtration system. Recirculate the initial wort if required to improve clarity, then collect the wort for the next brewing stage. Sparge with hot water according to the brewing recipe to recover remaining extract. Clean and sanitize the vessel after use.
