Egg Tray Making Machine
Automatic Egg Tray Making Machine
The Egg Tray Making Machine is designed to produce molded paper egg trays from recycled paper pulp. It converts prepared pulp into shaped trays through forming, dewatering, pressing and drying processes, providing a practical packaging solution for egg producers, packing facilities and paper-product manufacturers.
Pulp Feeding System
The pulp feeding section supplies prepared paper pulp to the forming area. Consistent pulp distribution helps maintain uniform tray formation and supports stable production.
Pulp Molding System
The molding section shapes the prepared pulp into the required egg-tray configuration. Mold surfaces determine the tray pattern, dimensions and individual egg pockets.
Forming System
The forming process distributes pulp over the mold and removes excess water to create the basic tray structure. Controlled forming helps produce trays with consistent shape and wall thickness.
Vacuum & Dewatering System
Vacuum-assisted dewatering removes excess water from the pulp during the forming process. Efficient water removal helps improve tray strength and prepares the molded product for subsequent drying.
Pressing System
A pressing stage can be incorporated to improve tray shape, surface finish and dimensional consistency. The pressing arrangement helps consolidate the molded pulp before final drying.
Drying System
The molded trays require controlled drying to remove remaining moisture and achieve the required rigidity. Depending on the production configuration, drying may use hot air, natural air circulation or a dedicated drying system.
Tray Transfer System
After forming and drying, the finished trays are transferred toward the collection area through a mechanical handling or conveyor arrangement. Automated transfer reduces manual handling during continuous production.
Working Principle
Waste paper or recycled paper is first processed into pulp and mixed with water to create a suitable raw-material slurry. The prepared pulp is then supplied to the forming section, where it is distributed over specially shaped molds.
Vacuum dewatering removes excess water while the pulp takes the shape of the egg tray. The molded trays are then pressed and dried to achieve the required strength and rigidity before being transferred to the collection area.

Construction Details
The Egg Tray Making Machine consists of a pulp-forming section, molding assembly, dewatering arrangement, transfer mechanism and drying section. The machine can be configured with forming molds designed specifically for the required egg-tray size and pattern.
Depending on the production setup, additional equipment such as pulp preparation systems, vacuum pumps, dryers, conveyors and automatic stacking units can be integrated to create a complete egg-tray manufacturing line.
Maintenance Requirements
Clean pulp-contact surfaces regularly.
Remove accumulated pulp from molds and forming areas.
Inspect forming molds for wear or damage.
Check vacuum lines and dewatering components for blockages.
Inspect pumps, motors and drive components periodically.
Keep drying equipment and air passages clean.
Check conveyors and transfer mechanisms for proper alignment.
Inspect electrical connections during routine servicing.
Maintain molds and mechanical components according to manufacturer recommendations.
Safety Features
The machine should incorporate suitable guarding around moving mechanisms, forming assemblies and drive components. Proper electrical protection, secure machine installation and protected hot-air or heating sections should be maintained where applicable. Emergency-stop controls and other safety devices should be provided according to the machine configuration and applicable industrial safety requirements.
