Poultry Cooling System

Poultry Cooling System

The Poultry Cooling System is designed to reduce heat inside commercial poultry houses and maintain a more suitable environment for birds during hot weather. It can combine evaporative cooling, controlled airflow and water-management components to improve temperature control across the poultry house.

Cooling Pad System

Evaporative cooling pads provide a large wet surface through which outside air passes before entering the poultry house. Water evaporation helps remove heat from the incoming air and lowers its temperature.

Water Distribution System

A water-distribution arrangement supplies water across the cooling pads to maintain consistent wetting. Uniform water distribution supports efficient evaporative cooling throughout the active pad area.

Water Recirculation System

A circulation pump transfers water from the collection tank or sump back to the cooling pads. Continuous circulation helps maintain the required moisture level while reducing unnecessary water consumption.

Exhaust Fan System

High-capacity exhaust fans draw air through the cooling pads and move the cooled air across the poultry house. The combined airflow and evaporative cooling arrangement supports effective temperature management.

Water Storage / Sump

A dedicated tank or sump stores the circulating water used by the cooling system. It provides a continuous water source for the pump and cooling-pad arrangement.

Temperature Control

Temperature sensors and environmental controllers can be integrated to monitor indoor conditions and operate the cooling equipment according to the required temperature settings.

Airflow Control

The cooling system works with controlled ventilation to regulate the amount of air entering and leaving the poultry house. Proper airflow management helps distribute cooled air more evenly throughout the building.

Working Principle

Water is circulated from the storage tank or sump to the cooling pads, keeping their surfaces continuously wet. Exhaust fans draw outside air through the wet pads and into the poultry house.

As air passes through the moist cooling pads, water evaporation removes heat from the incoming air. The cooled air then moves through the poultry house, while warm air is extracted through the exhaust fans.

Main Applications

  • Broiler poultry farms

  • Layer farms

  • Breeder farms

  • Environment-controlled poultry houses

  • Tunnel-ventilated poultry sheds

  • Large-scale commercial poultry farms

  • Intensive poultry production facilities

  • Modern climate-controlled poultry houses

Key Features

  • Evaporative cooling

  • Controlled fresh-air intake

  • High-volume air extraction

  • Water circulation system

  • Cooling-pad integration

  • Temperature-control options

  • Improved airflow management

  • Suitable for hot-weather operation

  • Compatible with environmental controllers

  • Suitable for large poultry-house installations

Construction Details

The Poultry Cooling System can consist of evaporative cooling pads, water-distribution pipes, circulation pumps, water tanks or sumps, exhaust fans and environmental-control components. The cooling pads are generally installed at designated air-inlet sections, while exhaust fans are positioned to draw air through the cooling system.

The complete arrangement can be integrated with poultry air inlets, temperature controllers, water filters and other ventilation equipment.

Maintenance Requirements

  • Clean cooling pads regularly to remove dust and mineral deposits.

  • Inspect water-distribution pipes and circulation lines.

  • Clean the water tank or sump periodically.

  • Check the circulation pump for proper operation.

  • Inspect exhaust fans, blades and shutters.

  • Monitor water flow across the complete cooling-pad surface.

  • Check temperature sensors and control equipment.

  • Inspect pipes and fittings for leakage.

  • Replace damaged or deteriorated cooling pads when required.

  • Maintain water quality according to manufacturer recommendations.

Safety Features

The system should have secure water and electrical connections with appropriate protection around pumps and powered equipment. Exhaust fans should have suitable guarding around rotating components. Proper drainage should be maintained to prevent water accumulation, while electrical components should be protected from direct water exposure. Regular inspection of cooling pads, pumps, fans and controls supports safe and reliable operation.
